Chertsey Abbey

I love this place and go there to find peace and to talk to the spirits of the land here. I always leave offerings every time I visit and make sure that litter is picked up. I abhor the way people don't recognise the sanctity of the area and just throw their rubbish around without a care. It is so disrespectful to the spirits that abound there.

The only part of the main abbey that is still in existance today. Before this building was here another old church was in it's place and before that it was a sacred area used by the local people. The energies of that sacred space still permeates the area today.
The same corner from the inside. I came past this place almost every day as a child on my way to school. Mum would take me on her bike and would always whisper as we went past the Abbey grounds because 'the old ones' lived there. They still do.
These were kilns that were found here when the area was excavated. probably used to bake bread.
The Abbey River

A few of the many fairy homes around the Abbey grounds. I always leave an offering at these sites. Usually lavender blossoms although small scraps of material are also appreciated by the Fey folk. My Mum taught me to do this when I was a small child. We would often go out to a faerie rings early in the morning with small scraps of material for their new dresses. Mum's garden always grew beautifully, it still does, and I believe that it is because she always recognised the spirits of the elementals that lived there.

This is the home of Fey, at the base of an old oak tree that has fallen and then regrown. It is covered with Ivy and fungi, with this little doorway into the world that is not ours.

This lovely pine tree that towers over the other trees grows along the pathway, around it there is a pathway to the Fey Oak tree and a tiny stone bridge across what once was part of the moat.

At the base of this tree is a wonderful surprise. It can't be seen from the pathway but take a look at the other side of it, that is usually unseen by humans and the photo below is what you find!

A Hobbit House, with a porch and ivy growing around the door. Just behind this by the Yew tree (showing) is where I found the most energies in the whole of the place. It is like a wall of energy that you walk through to get to the Spirit world. I have done it with dowsers, general energy feel and photos and each comes up the same, the energy field starts HERE. Probably the Sprite, Fey, Hobbit, Dryad that lives here is the Gatekeeper. If you ever go to see this tree please leave an offering for our friend. I usually leave lavender blossoms.
